The Swedish striker has confessed that he enjoyed his Premier league spell with Manchester United because he came up against so many ‘haters’.
In the summer of 2016, he moved to Manchester United on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, and in his debut season, the then 34-year-old scored 28 goals in 46 games in all competitions before injuries took their toll in his second season.
A few critics questioned if Ibrahimovic was too old to succeed in the Premier League, but the numbers speak for themselves, and the charismatic striker confessed that proving people wrong was his favourite part of his time in England.
Ibrahimovic told ESPN, “I had a good time.” “I had a great time because everyone was against it when I arrived. He also added that he prefers it when people dislike him as it brings out the best in him. He ended by saying that he is glad to have played for United in a fantastic competition and a fantastic atmosphere.
In his first season, Ibrahimovic won the Europa League, League Cup, and Community Shield before suffering a serious knee injury that limited him to just five games in 2017/18.
In March 2018, he was released on a free transfer to join LA Galaxy, where he regained his fitness and sealed a return to AC Milan two years later.
