Following the match against Freiburg, Sky Sport Italia interviewed Di Maria regarding his plans for next season. To which he said, “We are talking. I don’t know. I am pleased here. I can feel the fans’ affection now, which was a little more difficult for me at the start.”
After Juventus’ 1-0 victory over Freiburg, Angel Di Maria also confirmed that Juventus would try to win Europa League and Coppa Italia while he is in the process of discussing extending his stay in Turin.
He said, “I had a bit of pain, it’s normal fatigue after so many games, but tonight was to work hard and win. I am happy to have helped the team with a goal and hope to continue doing that for the rest of the season. We’ll do our best to win the Europa League, one of our objectives along with the Coppa Italia, and we’ll try to win them both.”
Juventus have yet to win a major European trophy since lifting the Champions League in 1996. The return leg in Germany takes place next Thursday. Also, Juventus will face Inter next month in the two-legged Coppa Italia semi-final.
