The match, held at Arena BRB Mané Garrincha in Brasília, saw Brazil start assertively. Their early pressure paid off when Vinícius was fouled in the box by Daniel Muñoz, leading to a penalty that Raphinha converted, giving Brazil a 1-0 lead.
Colombia responded with resilience. Midway through the first half, Luis Díaz capitalized on a sequence initiated by Jhon Arias and assisted by James Rodríguez, leveling the score at 1-1.
The second half was a display of tactical battles, with both teams creating opportunities but unable to find the net. The deadlock persisted until injury time, when Vinícius Júnior’s long-range effort deflected off a defender, deceiving goalkeeper Camilo Vargas and sealing the win for Brazil.
