World Cup qualifier: Griezmann’s brace powers France secure a victory against Finland

French national football team has defeated Finland by 2-0 in the World Cup qualifiers match. Griezmann scored two as France go top of the table.

French national football team has beaten Finland in the World Cup qualifiers match on Tuesday night. It was an emphatic two nil victory for the French side as they go top of Group D. With this victory France registered their third victory in the World Cup qualifiers in six matches and in the remaining three they were held to draw. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris’ haven’t faced a loss in the qualifiers yet.

France as expected were dominating the ball possession as well as the game. The Finland midfielder conceded a yellow card at a very early stage of the game for his very bad challenge. Noting more to see in the first half except Athletico Madrid’s new signing Antoine Griezmann’s stunning goal in the 25th minute. It was a goal to watch as the Spanish club’s forward finished the ball in the back of the net with his left foot to give the lead to the French national football team. The second half whistle goes and the French team again started creating chances. In the 53rd minute after Leo Dubois assisted the ball towards Griezmann, he moved towards his right, cutting past one defender, and scored a beautiful goal from a very tight angle.


The Athletico Madrid’s forward was on fire as he could have got his third in the 59th minute after some amazing gameplay from the french forwards named Anthony Martial who plays for Premier League club Manchester United, Real Madrid’s Benzema, and two-goal scorer of this match, Antoine Griezmann. Griezmann kicked the ball way too far from the net and the score remained 2-0 until the final whistle from the referee.
