Wolves give an update on Raul Jimenez’s situation

Wolves’ striker Raul Jimenez suffered a head injury last night in the game against Arsenal at the Emirates. Arsenal had a corner in the 4th minute of the game. Willian whipped in a ball into the box from the corner where Jimenez and David Luiz had a head collision in the air whilst going for the ball. It looked like a serious clash and medical staff from both teams were called for help. David Luiz continued playing with head protection whereas Jimenez had to be stretchered off and taken to the hospital.

Wolves have given an update on Jimenez’s situation via their official website.

“Raul is comfortable following an operation last night, which he underwent in a London hospital. He has since seen his partner Daniela and is now resting. He will remain under observation for a few days while he begins his recovery.

“The club would like to thank the medical staff at Arsenal, the NHS paramedics, hospital staff and surgeons who, through their skill and early response, were of such help. The club ask that Raul and his family are now afforded a period of space and privacy, before any further updates are provided in due course.”

Fortunately Jimenez is in a better condition without any serious complications.

A Jimenez- less Wolves still beat Arsenal 2-1 with two first half goals from Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence. Although Gabriel pulled one back for Arsenal in the first half to make it 1-1, Wolves were quick enough to score a second goal and keep the lead for the rest of the game.

This is the 3rd loss Arsenal have suffered this season at home, coincidentally making it their worst start to a Premier League season. The Gunners have played 10 games in the league so far, sitting 14th in the table with only 13 points.
