West Ham beats Newcastle United in an entertaining game which ended with a final score of 2-4

West Ham United scored 4 goals against Newcastle United to secure 3 points in their first Premier League game of the season.

In an entertaining game, West Ham beats Newcastle United. The game was played in St. James’ Park, (Newcastle United home ground). It was the first Premier League game for both teams. The game ended with a final score of 2-4 with the away side winning it.

It was a thrilling comeback by the Hammers after conceding an early goal. Callum Wilson gave the lead to Newcastle in the 5th minute. Then, West Ham’s left-back Aaron Cresswell put the ball behind the net to equalise the score in the 18th minute. 5 minutes before the first half, Newcastle United again snatched their lead. Jack Murphy of Newcastle scored the goal and made the score 2-1 before halftime.

The second half started and it started with a bang. In the 53rd minute, Said Benrahma equalized it for West Ham again. Just after 10 minutes, Tomas Soucek, the Czech Republic midfielder scored the goal and gave the lead to the Hammers. They didn’t hesitate to hit the fourth goal as well and nor did they take too much time to hit it. West Ham United was leading by two goals in the 66th minute, thanks to Michael Antonio’s emphatic finish. However, Newcastle United tried making goal attempts but couldn’t turn this game around to their side.

The West Ham fans would have never expected this comeback from them. They were on fire in the second half.  Thus, West Ham starts their Premier League campaign with a staggering win.
