Following Manchester United’s 3-1 victory over Fulham in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday, manager Erik ten Hag has expressed his belief that the team is in a strong position to win trophies this season.
Ten Hag, who joined the club in the summer of 2022, has made it clear that his primary objective is to bring success back to Old Trafford after a few seasons without any major silverware. With United now through to the semi-finals of the FA Cup, and in a good position in the Premier League, the Dutchman feels that his team is capable of achieving their goals.
Speaking after the Fulham game, Ten Hag said, “We’re in a good position now. We’ve reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup, which is a fantastic achievement. But we want to go further than that. We want to win the trophy. And we’re also in a good position in the league.”
Ten Hag’s confidence is not misplaced, as United have been in impressive form under his leadership. The team has shown attacking flair, defensive solidity, and a winning mentality that has seen them win a number of important games this season. They have also developed a never-say-die attitude, which has helped them come back from losing positions in several matches.
