Wayne Rooney likely candidate for Manager role at Goodison Park

Derby manager Wayne Rooney has emerged as a candidate for an emotional return to Everton after the former England Star’s stunning way of handling affairs at Derby County even after the club is facing a financial crisis.

Rooney is among the favourites to take the permanent charge at Everton football club after former manager Rafa Benitez was sacked after a poor run of form at the club on Sunday after the defeat to Norwich City in the Premier League.

The 36-year-old made his name at Goodison as a precious teenager before rejoining his boyhood club after an excellent career spell at manchester united where he won many silverwares. And in his short tenure as a manager, Rooney has proven to be firm and an able manager to take charge of Everton after a dreadful season performance by Rafa Benitez at the club as fans will be ready with open arms to welcome the former player at the club but this time in a different role.

He took in charge of the Derby who have a rich history a year back as player-manager and now is managing them and with all the constraints that he has at the club, he is doing a pretty good job. He managed to save Derby from a possible relegation last year on the final day of last season.

Rooney won five Premier League titles and the champions league during his playing days and also became England’s all-time leading scorer.
