Vincent Kompany and David Silva’s statues will be unveiled by Manchester City ahead of their game against Arsenal this weekend

Manchester City has announced that they are going to unveil the sculptures of their legends, Vincent Kompany and David Silva outside their home ground, Etihad. Fans can see it in the weekend before City’s match against Arsenal.

The last season’s Premier League champions, Manchester City have announced that they are going to unveil the statues of David Silva and world-class defender, Vincent Kompany outside their home stadium, Etihad this weekend. City made this decision of making the sculptures of their legends i.e Vincent Kompany and David Silva long back, but because of COVID 19, they couldn’t unveil it. But now, before Manchester City’s game against Arsenal this weekend in the Premier League they will be Unveiling the sculptures of both.

The Belgian world-class defender, Vincent Kompany was signed for Manchester City in 2008. He won many trophies with the club including FA Cup in 2011 and the Premier League title in the 2011-2012, 2017-2018, and 2018-2019 seasons. Roberto Mancini, the former City manager used to praise the Belgian centre-half a lot. But, in 2019 he left the city to become the player-manager of the Belgian Pro League team Anderlecht.

David Silva is another legend of Manchester City who left City in 2020, Just one year later the Belgian world-class Central defender. The midfielder also has the same count of trophies for the club as Vincent has. As both, the legend used to play together in the first team. When Kompany departed, Silva was named the captain of the club. City won the League Cup in 2019-20 under silva’s captaincy. The world-class midfielder, also left City in 2020 to join the La Liga club, Real Sociedad.

Khaldoon Al Mubarak, the club’s chairman, said on Manchester City’s official website: “Ultimately, Vincent and David do not need statues to enshrine their achievements at Manchester City over the past decade. They are already revered as icons of their generation.”

Thus, seeing their trophy cabinet, Kompany and Silva are deservingly named as Manchester City’s legend and that’s why the club is going to unveil the sculptures of both the legends outside Etihad in the weekend ahead of Arsenal’s game.
