Varane expressed his concerns about the toll that constant physical exertion, particularly heading the ball, has taken on his body. “Earlier this season I headed repeatedly during a match for Manchester United and felt abnormally tired during the following days. I don’t know if I will live to be 100. But I know that I have damaged by body…I can feel that,” Varane said during the interview as reported by Fabrizio Romano via his Instagram page named ‘Herewego.’

Concussion awareness has been growing in the world of football, with players and medical professionals increasingly acknowledging the potential long-term effects of head injuries. Varane’s decision to prioritize his health and well-being is a testament to the importance of player welfare in the modern game.
