VAR has to be the worst thing ever: NBA star Joel Embiid

Raheen Sterling contributed with the third goal for City against Liverpool but it was disallowed by VAR and stated offside.

Philadelphia 76ers’ superstar Joel Embiid who recently won the NBA scoring title has spoken something against the VAR. The Cameroonian professional is not happy with how VAR works like and wants to go with what referees decide as they should be the only ones to officiate a football match.

“VAR has to be the worst thing ever, just let the referees make decisions and live with the results,” said Embiid via his Twitter account. Following a 2-2 draw between the table topper Manchester City and second-placed Liverpool at the City’s home stadium Etihad on Sunday, Kevin de Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus netted each for the hosts while for the Reds’ side, Diogo Jota and Sadio Mane scored to make the Premier League title race more interesting.

Embiid is not the only one to not like the decisions by VAR, it has always been a controversial topic in the world of football.

Meanwhile, City is on top of the table with 74 points followed by Liverpool with 73 and Chelsea on third with 62.
