Bielsa is still in advanced discussions about becoming Uruguay’s new head coach. Bielsa remains unemployed after leaving Elland Road a year ago. Of course, he has come close to returning to the Premier League. Before Sean Dyche’s appointment, the Argentinian flew into England for a meeting with Everton. However, the talk between Bielsa and Everton broke down.
In addition, Leeds fans hoped that Bielsa would return following the dismissal of Jesse Marsch. Despite this, it was probably the right decision for all parties for Leeds to look elsewhere. Marcelo Bielsa is now in advanced talks about his next position, which is good news for those looking forward to seeing him return to football.
Fabrizio Romano says Bielsa is one step away from Uruguay’s manager. If appointed, he will likely sign a contract until the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign ends. And obviously, he would probably stay on if they made the tournament co-hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Uruguay has a great deal of talent. A stalwart of the side for many years was Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani. The team’s future appears to be in the hands of Fede Valverde, Rodrigo Bentancur and Darwin Nunez. As for Bielsa, he manages South American nations. After Argentina and Chile, Uruguay is his third country to work in.
