Union Berlin has defeated Ajax FC in the second leg of the UEFA Europa League round of 32 tie on Thursday night, 23rd February. Union Berlin has joined AS Roma and Manchester United in the round of 16 of the Europa league. All these teams won and have qualified for the next round.
Union Berlin is in exceptional form this season in the German League named Bundesliga (2022/23 season). They are on the second position in the Bundesliga points table with the same points as the leaders Bayern Munich.
First leg between Ajax and Union Berlin went goalless and Berlin did the work in their home. Berlin scored three against Ajax whereas the visitors could only pull one back which wasn’t enough for them to get the qualification in the next round of the competition.
