UEFA Champions League: Exquisite comeback gives advantage to Real Madrid against Liverpool in the first leg

Real Madrid scored 5 against Liverpool in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League’s round of 16 tie.

Liverpool FC and Real Madrid were up against each other in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie on Tuesday night, 21st February. The Jurgen Klopp’s side was brutally defeated in the first leg of the competition as the final scoreline was 2-5.

Liverpool FC were leading by two goals in the first 20 minutes but the remaining 70 minutes gave them some bad memories. The Reds were looking to take revenge on Real Madrid who defeated them in the finals of the UEFA Champions League 2021/22 season. However, they couldn’t do it even after leading by two goals to nil at first.

Liverpool gave away their lead which was given to them by Nunez and Salah inside 15 minutes. Vinicius Junior scored two back to back goals to end the first half with a scoreline 2-2. Second half was as spectacular as it seemed. Madrid took the lead in the 47th minute with Eder Militao’s superb goal. Last year’s Top scorer Karim Benzema didn’t hold back as he also record two goals to his name in the game. The final scoreline of 5-2 is huge and Madrid has a great advantage ahead of the second leg.
