Thomas Tuchel who has been made the new manager of England football team recently was asked on why he chose England over Man United in the opening interview. Man United are in poor form under Erik ten Hag and there were rumours circulating that the club is searching for the new manager. They put Tuchel on top of their list and the manager also seem to be excited but he decided to choose England. “Well, I like the idea here at the FA…and the way their CEO mark presented it. That was a decision for this job, and not against anyone else or any club,” said Tuchel as reported by Fabrizio Romano.
Thomas Tuchel has been unveiled as the new manager of the England national football team. The former Chelsea and Bayern Munich coach was reportedly a top target for Manchester United as they struggle under Erik ten Hag, with growing speculation about a managerial change at Old Trafford. However, Tuchel surprised many by opting for the England job instead.
In his first interview since the appointment, Tuchel addressed the speculation surrounding Manchester United, stating that his decision to lead England was not a rejection of any club but rather a result of his enthusiasm for the FA’s project.
The FA’s vision and the opportunity to manage a talented pool of English players appear to have played a key role in Tuchel’s decision.
