Manchester United might use Jadon Sancho as part of a swap deal to bring Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain to Old Trafford. The Red Devils are in talks with PSG over acquiring Ugarte, who is valued at around €70 million (£58.9 million). The 23-year-old defensive midfielder is a key target for United, known for leading Ligue 1 in tackles per game last season.
Ugarte’s time at PSG has not been entirely successful since his move from Sporting Lisbon last summer, and the French club is open to selling him. PSG has shown interest in Sancho, who has just returned to Manchester United after a loan spell at Borussia Dortmund. Despite resolving previous issues with manager Erik ten Hag, Sancho could be sold if the right offer comes along.
The potential swap deal would benefit both clubs: PSG would gain another attacking option following Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid, while Manchester United could secure the defensive reinforcement they need and allocate funds for additional transfers.
Manchester United has seen initial bids for defenders like Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite and Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt rejected, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah also on their radar. The swap deal with PSG could be a strategic move to address their needs in both attack and defense.
