Head coach Thomas Frank has played down reports that he could take over from Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur.

As a result of Wednesday’s Champions League exit to AC Milan, Conte’s future at the north London club is far from certain.

The 49-year-old Danish tactician is expected to make Tottenham’s managerial shortlist if Conte steps down, but he is satisfied at Brentford. Frank’s contract with the club expires in 2027.

Frank said ahead of Brentford’s Premier League match against Everton: “First and foremost, they have a manager I have studied for years and admire enormously. He has achieved fantastic results, so I hope he and the Spurs have a successful season. “Secondly, I am very, very happy here at Brentford.”

In December 2016, Frank joined Brentford as Dean Smith’s assistant manager. After Smith left for Aston Villa in October 2018, he assumed leadership of the first team. Among the top five leagues in Europe, only the Bees and Reims remain unbeaten in 2023, a statistic Frank thinks should be commended.
