This midfielder will not feature for Man United against Barcelona due to suspension

Manchester United will play against Barcelona in the round of 16 of the Europa League on Thursday.

On Thursday, 16th February Manchester United will play against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Europa League. The round of 16 games of the competition will be starting from this week. The first leg between the two teams is at Barcelona’s home ground named Camp Nou.

Ahead of this game, there is a bad news for the Manchester United fans as they won’t see one of their midfielders featuring in this round of 16 fixture against Barcelona. Newly signed midfielder Marcel Sabitzer who joined from Bayern Munich on loan this January will not play for Man United in the first leg because of his suspension.

Marcel Sabitzer recieved a one-match suspension in the UEFA Champions League this season when he was playing for Bayern Munich. As Europa League is also an UEFA’s competition, so his suspension will be carried on.

However their another midfielder Casemiro will be back playing for the club after he was suspended for three league games due to the red card he received in the Crystal Palace’s game. As Marcel Sabitzer is out of the Europa League’s first leg squad, the fans will have to wait to see him and Casemiro in the pitch together.
