On the 29th of August, La Liga released a press statement saying that they requested the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) to delay these two games from this week’s fixtures well as to change the kick-off times of the other fixtures.
La Liga failed in their injunction against FIFA on their decision to extend the time the South American players will represent their countries in the Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS).
The recent decision was taken by the league as there will be players who return to their clubs on Friday after having played three games during the international break and most of them will have games on Saturday and Sunday which makes it clear that the players will not be in any state to play on an equal footing.
