The Blues culminated with the UEFA Champions League trophy after they defeated their rivals Manchester City at Porto where they were out with a 1-0 loss. The London club told that they faced this because of no fans appearance in the stadium and the games were played without crowds because of the COVID-19 restrictions.

The club said on Thursday that they spend £109.7m in signing three players namely, Romelu Lukaku (striker), Marcus Bettinelli (goalkeeper), and midfielder Saul Niguez from reigning La Liga champion Atletico Madrid on loan. On the other hand, they let their thirteen players leave that made a combination of £103.7 million. There is a chance for them to earn £16.4 million in case of the outstanding clauses in prior transfers are all met, reported AFP.

The club was acquired by a Russian billionaire named Abramovich in the year 2003, that won five times English Premier League in 2004, 2005, 2009, 2014 and last in 2016, they have won two UEFA Champions League trophies.

After match week 20, Chelsea is at number two of the Premier League table with 42 points following rivals Manchester City that are at the top with 50 points. Liverpool is at number three while Arsenal is at 4th position.
