Sunil Chhetri makes record but his side loses to Hyderabad FC

Captain Chhetri has now scored a record of 50 ISL goals following his strike against Hyderabad FC.

Sunil Chhetri has created a new record of becoming the first player to net 50 goals at the Indian Super League (ISL). The striker attained this by scoring against Hyderabad at the Athletic Stadium in Bombolim today.

Udanta provided an assist to the right man while the Bengaluru forward, without a mistake finished into the net at the 87th minute of the game. A record of all-time top ISL top-scorer was made, but it wasn’t enough as his side lost to Hyderabad conceding two goals.

Hyderabad began with early leads by two goals before the first half ended and now extends their lead at the top of the table of the Hero ISL league with 29 points in 16 games following the win while Jamshedpur FC stays at 2 and Bengaluru FC at 2. Javier Siverio at 16′ while captain Joao Victor at 30th minute scored for Manuel Marquez’s team to dominate the opponents and bag three points. The team played beautiful passing football to which the other team had no answer.

While the first half was dominated by Hyderabad, Bengaluru tried for a comeback in the second with Clienton Silva passing to Udanta and he crossed to captain Chhetri for their first and only goal at the game today.
