
The French goalkeeper named Hugo Lloris has announced his retirement from international football. The world cup winning keeper made the announcement on his social media handle on Monday night, 10th January. Tottenham Hotspur’s captain will now be only seen in the club’s jersey.
This was another shocking news for the French football team fans as recently their Ballon d’Or winner striker named Karim Benzema announced his retirement from international football and now their world cup winning goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has left the team.
Hugo Lloris won the FIFA World Cup with France in the year 2018. 2018-19 was one of the best seasons for Hugo Lloris as his club Tottenham Hotspur went into the finals of the UEFA Champions League finals. They were beaten by their Premier League rival club named Liverpool FC in this finals. Mauricio Pochettino made Tottenham reach to the finals of the competition but they couldn’t win the trophy.
Hugo Lloris also helped his team reach the finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022. The French national football team were the runner-ups of the world cup in 2022 and Hugo Lloris made some fantastic saves in the game to take this game to the penalty shootout.
