Tottenham Hotspur won in a game where they were dominated by the home team, Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0.

Both teams had their fair number of chances but the solitary goal was scored at the 9th minute when Dele Alli got tackled by the Wolves goalkeeper José Sá. Alli took the penalty and converted it to ensure Spurs take the early lead.

After this goal, the Wolves dominated and controlled the game with Adama Traore proving to be dangerous, harassing Japhet Tanganga who got a yellow card for tacking the wing-back.

Raul Jimenez had a chance at the end of the first half when Traore ran into the Tottenham box and passed it to Joao Moutinho who flicked to Jimenez whose shot went wide.

The second half started with the Wolves showing the same intensity, as Spurs were turning over the ball at dangerous places in the midfield and defence.

Traore had a one on one chance but fluffed it, as Wolves couldn’t equalise. Spurs had two great chances with Stephen Bergwijn being the origin of both of them. The first was saved by Sá and the rebound which led to Heung Min Son’s shot also was stopped.

Harry Kane appeared in his first game after the transfer rumours linking him away to Manchester City. He, too, missed a chance when Bergwijn passed it to him. The shot was saved by the Wolves goalkeeper.

All in all, Wolves had 25 shots but none of them was converted, hence they might think this was an unlucky loss, which might not be wrong. Spurs can go away with a sigh of relief and six points in the bag.

Dele Alli is today’s man of the match as he scored the solitary goal and was pretty threatening when the ball came to him. Both goalkeepers can also be commended for their performances.
