The goal show started in just the 9th minute of the game when Mahesh Singh’s stunning finish put the visitors in the leading position. SC East Bengal was 1-0 up but still under pressure as FC Goa started to create chances just after conceding the opening goal. But, the first half didn’t end here, Mahesh Singh completed his brace in the 42nd minute of the game and it gave a huge boost for Mario Rivera’s side as they went back to the tunnel for halftime with a 2-1 lead.

The goal by Mahesh was the last goal of the game and it earned three points for the visitors. But the scoreline 1-2 didn’t say the whole match story as FC Goa’s stats are so impressive that they literally deserved to win this match but some wrong decision in front and a well-organized defence didn’t let the host score even a single goal in the second half. FC Goa was trying hard till the last whistle to find the equalizing goal again but couldn’t. Despite stats, the results were on SC East Bengal’s side so it was a massive three points for them.
