SC East Bengal got their first win of the season in the Hero Indian Super League on Wednesday when they beat FC Goa by 2-1. It was their first victory and it came on the away soil as they visited GMC Athletic Stadium on Wednesday. Though Mario Rivera’s men won the match they still remain in the second last position in the Hero Indian Super League 2021/22 points table. The goal show started in just the 9th minute of the game when Mahesh Singh’s stunning finish put the visitors in the leading position. SC East Bengal was 1-0 up but still under pressure as FC Goa started to create chances just after conceding the opening goal. Derrick Pereira’s men did find the goal in the 37th minute after a decent amount of attempts. Alberto Noguera was the one who opened the scoring for the host and equalized the score. But, the first half didn’t end here, Mahesh Singh completed his brace in the 42nd minute of the game and it gave a huge boost for Mario Rivera’s side as they went back to the tunnel for halftime with a 2-1 lead.

The goal by Mahesh was the last goal of the game and it earned three points for the visitors. FC Goa was trying hard till the last whistle to find the equalizing goal again but couldn’t. Despite stats, the results were on SC East Bengal’s side so it was a massive three points for them.
