“Sandesh Jhingan joining a European club has opened the doors for Indian players,” says Hyderabad FC defender Chinglensana Singh

ATK Mohun Bagan defender Sandesh Jhingan seals a permanent move to HNK Sibenik this season.

Sandesh Jhingan has officially joined a top-tier club in Croatia in the name of HNK Sibenik as he looks forward to making an impact for the team as he starts a new chapter in his football career. His former defensive teammate Chinglensana Singh said the impact of the former defender joining open a lot of doors for other Indians and gives a vast number of opportunities to showcase their talent.

Sandesh Jhingan also becomes the first Indian footballer to play in a top-tier Croatian football league. Sandesh had to go through a particular set of tests and medical before completing his move permanently on Tuesday evening. He made 42 appearances for India with ATK Mohun Bagan by just completing one year of his contract. His contract was extended for 5 years but ultimately he decided to leave the club.

However, his former teammate mentioned “We need to look further and explore Europe and other places to improve ourselves, and the National Team. I am really happy for him. We share a special bond,” when he spoke about his former defender Sandesh Jhingan.
