Leicester City has signed Ryan Bertrand on a two-year contract after the left-back was released by Southampton and became a free agent, the Premier League club announced on Thursday.
Bertrand played for Saints for seven seasons, appearing in 240 games for the club on the south coast. Ryan Bertrand, who won the Champions League with Chelsea, has 19 England caps but has not represented his country since 2017.
The 31-year-old Ryan Bertrand has played for England at the under-17, under-18, under-19, under-20, and under-21 levels, as well as for Great Britain in the 2012 Summer Olympics. In August 2012, he earned his senior England debut in a 2–1 win over Italy in a friendly match.

“Leicester have built something amazing over the years, especially since Brendan Rodgers has come in,” Bertrand said in a statement. “It’s fantastic to be a part of this fantastic club and I’m going to give my all to try and do the fans proud.”
Leicester, who won the FA Cup last season, kicks off its season with a Community Shield encounter against league champion Manchester City on August 7, before hosting a Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers a week later.
