Roanld Koeman to be the new Barcelona Manager after Club sacked Quique Setien

Ronald Koeman has been appointed as the new Barcelona Manager after Quine Setein was sacked by the club.

Ronald Koeman in principle had agreed to take the job of Manager at FC Barcelona but the Spanish Club will have to work on compensation with the Netherlands FA as his the current Manger at the Netherlands National team.

Setien was sacked after a meeting with the technical director Eric Abidal, the decision came after the humiliation in the Champions league by Bayern in a 8-2 disaster which has sent shock waves in the footballing world. This is the first step for a major restructuring of the club said the club President Josep Bartomeu, along with the new coach and new players Barca are planning a major overhaul of the current squad to make the changes they need in the current crisis.

The Club made an official statement, “This is the first decision within a wider restructuring of the first team which will be agreed between the current technical secretary and the new coach, who will be announced in the coming days”.

While it looks to be sure Koeman is the next Manager at Barcelona but they would need to pay compensation to the Netherlands FA in doing so. The Argetine Mauricio Pochenttino was said to be the preferred choice of director Ramon Planes with whom he worked at Espanyol. Pochettino is said to be interested for the job but Ronald Koeman looks like a done deal until official confirmation is made by the club along side him there are options such as Lauren Blanc, Thiery Henrry and Xavi who is currently in Qatar.
