Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal tests positive for COVID-19, will miss the Super Cup final

Dani Carvajal has tested positive for COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia playing in the Spanish Super Cup.

Dani Carvajal to not play in the Super Cup finals as the player has tested positive for COVID-19. The club had confirmed on Friday as the team is in Saudi Arabia playing in the Spanish Super Cup. The spokesperson of Real Madrid has said that the club is consulting with the authorities of Saudi to learn what protocols should be followed.

Saudi Arabia’s protocols regarding COVID-19 conditions that any person who has tested positive for COVID-19 should do seven-day quarantine and before being free should test negative twice. The club also confirms Dani Carvajal had already been vaccinated against COVID-19.

On Sunday’s final, Real Madrid is all set to face Athletic Bilbao after defeating their opponents Barcelona 3-2 in the Semifinals in the extra time. It is also confirmed by Spanish FA President Luis Rubiales on Friday that there are players in the tournament who are yet to be vaccinated.

On the other side, Atletico Madrid lost to Athletic Club to face the La Liga table-toppers in the finals of the Super Cup tournament.

On Thursday, Saudi Arabia has relinquished their conditions for the visitors to get completely vaccinated in permitting the Spanish players to participate in the Spanish Super Cup. According to the guidelines on the government’s website, getting fully vaccinated is compulsory to enter the kingdom.
