Vinicius Jr. has been in the limelight for his efficient skills and partnership duo with french striker Karim Benzema at the Spanish club. He was the talk of the town, with a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, when he was signed at the age of 16. But even with the contribution in the Brazilian U20 team, he put down hopes when he finally started playing for the club as he was struggling to finish a point in the scoresheet with the lack of experience in Europe.
Slowly but gradually he has proved his presence in the club with a huge margin of goal contribution in the 2021-2022 season, of 13 goals and 5 assists in comparison to the 2020-2021 season with only 3 goals and 3 assists. He has adapted to the Madrid style of quick counter and finishes much brilliantly at this point in the season, gaining the trust of partnership with Benzema, by being a very agile and quick player. This is mostly why most of the members of the club along with Florentino Perez have approved a long term contract for the Brazilian star until 2027.
Vinicius spoke about his future to TNT’s Esporte Interativo back in 2021 about his contract extension where he mentioned that he wanted to stay in Real Madrid for a long time. Real Madrid is less reliant on young players than Barcelona but the resident scout, Tor-Kristian Karlsen, looks more at the players who could have the club’s future in their hands, despite being led by old guards including Karim Benzema (33) and Luka Modric (36).
With his future looking as bright as it could ever be at Real Madrid, the Brazilian is soon expected to break records and win titles for his club. The Real Madrid manager sings all praise for Vinicius as he expects him to soon be a contender for Ballon D’Or as he is already showing signs of becoming one of the best players in Europe.
