Real Madrid had a mid-week game in the La Liga as they played one less match due to their Club World Cup fixture last week. Real Madrid had a game against Elche FC on Wednesday night, 15th February in the La Liga where they scored 4 goals without conceding.
Elche FC was brutally defeated by the defending champions however there is still a huge points gap between table toppers FC Barcelona and Real Madrid in the league table. Asensio scored the first goal for Madrid in the game in the 8th minute before Karim Benzema makes it 2-0 and 3-0 from the penalty spot.
Both of Benzema’s goals came from the penalty spot only. Real Madrid were leading Elche by 3 goals to nil in the first half. Later in the half, one of the best midfielders in the world currently Luka Modric scored a goal to secure the 4-0 victory for the defending champions over Elche FC. Now Real Madrid are at 2nd position with 48 points, 8 behind FC Barcelona.
