Real Madrid faced a humiliating loss at Bernabeu against Barcelona as the Catalunya giants pushed four goals past the 13-time Champions League winners. Within a span of 53 minutes, the game favoured the Xavi side of football against the experienced midfield of Madrid and the Catalunya Giants called the game home.
However, the former Real Madrid midfield maestro, Guti, who is now the manager wasn’t too impressed with the substitution style of the Los Blancos coach, Carlo Ancelotti. “I’m Ancelotti and I look at the bench and I have Hazard, Jovic, [Gareth] Bale, Isco… And you’re telling me that I can’t sub any of them in? What’s going on? I am getting lost”, he said via El Chiringuito TV as Ancelotti left several attacking pros on the bench for the crucial night. He noted the bizarre substitutions at the club as Ancelotti chose Mariano, who has not performed to par this season, against experienced players like Bale and Hazard.

The veteran is also of the opinion that signings of Haaland, Mbappe should be gravely considered as he feels that few Real Madrid players don’t show up in the manner that they’re supposed to, he said on Chiringuito. “A big team that wants to fight for the European Cup, LaLiga and the Copa del Rey can’t be with 14 players. Real Madrid is paying you. How can you not play? If you are asked once in a whole year, you will have to play when they ask you and do your best”, added the Spanish furiously. He believes that players who are determined and focused on football should start in the first squad as he admitted his criticism of Vinicus Jr by saying, ‘Vinicius cares more about the referee and rivals than about playing football.’
Real Madrid, however, is 9 points ahead of Barcelona in La Liga and have a fair shot at being champions as they are to cross horns against The Blues in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. With Benzema’s absence and Ancelotti’s substitution style, the fans await a comeback to forget the setback they had witnessed on Sunday.
