Real Madrid coach Ancelotti says, Benzema fit for the derby

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema was injured the previous week against Real Sociedad and was in doubt for the Madrid derby.

Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, who is on his second spell at the Spanish club told on Saturday that Benzema will be available for the match against Atletico Madrid which is scheduled for Sunday.

The French forward had injured his leg the previous week against Real Sociedad. According to the head coach, Benzema felt good while training today and will be appearing for the Madrid derby. “He is available and he will play tomorrow,” said Ancelotti at the press conference, reports AFP.

The Los Blancos wouldn’t want to miss this chance to win against the 2020-21 La Liga champions which will put them ahead of them with the 13 points indifference. The derby is difficult and the absence of one of the main players made the fans in concerning condition.

“It’s a game that the fans of both teams live special way. I don’t want to add to it, because there is already a lot of pressure on both teams,” said the Real Madrid boss at the press conference. He also said that the team is optimistic despite the pressure.

Meanwhile, the Real Madrid official page also added the forward in their recently released squad for the match against Atletico.

The striker has provided 17 goals and 8 assists in 19 games for his side this season and is one of the most important players in the team, the man of the big occasions who has put Madrid ahead many times in their critical time.
