Real Madrid has officially announced the signing of AS Monaco and France international midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni. The deal was already fixed by both the clubs on a deal worth around 100m plus add-ons.
Tchouameni has been signed by Real Madrid on a five-year deal. He becomes the second player to be signed by the Los Blancos after Antonio Rudiger joined the European Champions from Chelsea which was a free transfer.
The ex AS Monaco star was linked to various top European clubs like PSG, Liverpool and Manchester United. But the midfielder eventually chose to join the European Champions. He made it clear that he decides to join them when Real Madrid came up with a proposal of signing him by the end of May.
Tchouameni had an impressive 2021-22 season for AS Monaco and his contributions surely did help his former team in finishing third in Ligue 1. Out of 35 games, the midfielder added 3 goals and 2 assists to his tally. This impressive season of him also earned him a call-up in the France International side where he made his debut last year in September.
With the addition of Tchouameni, Real Madrid now has a very young star-studded midfield lineup which consists of Tchouameni, Valverde and Camavinga. Tchouameni would surely bolster their midfield unit. He becomes Real Madrid’s fourth most expensive signing in their history behind Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Eden Hazard.
