Real Madrid and Luka Modric want to continue together next season

Luka Modric was the most valuable player in the second leg of the Champions League versus Chelsea.

Luka Modric is poised to continue at Real Madrid for yet another season. The Croatian hero is 36 years old, but he is arguably one of the most efficient midfielders in the sport. Last season, he was crowned Real’s Player of the Season, and he was also voted for the Champions League Squad of the Season for the 2020/21 season.

The former Ballon d’Or winner’s deal ends this summer, and there’s been no hint on if it will be extended, but there is no uncertainty about his future. Everything indicates an extension, and a one-year increase might be perfectly provided with his level of ability and fitness.

According to Fabrizio Romano, both Real Madrid and Luka Modrić have no change in their plans as they are content to give him a one-year contract extension along with Vinícius Júnior.

Modric would hit the 10-year milestone at Madrid if he signs a new agreement. If Modric inks another term with Real Madrid in the following months, it won’t certainly be his penultimate. The Croatian skipper is likely to acquire a contract extension as a consequence of his work, abilities, and commitment to the club. Modric’s present term ends in 2022.

Modric, who signed Real Madrid as a 27-year-old from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012, has presented us all with a decade of pure bliss and entertainment. His debut games in Madrid were sloppy, as Marca termed him “the worst signing of the season.”
Modric
claimed the Ballon D’Or in 2018 following six years and numerous different medals. This was due to his critical contribution to Real Madrid’s Decimotercera conquest and also Croatia’s World Cup campaign to the final.

At Real Madrid, Luka Modric has won various honours. 4 Champions Leagues, 4 Club World Cups, 3 European Super Cups, 2 La Ligas, 3 Spanish Super Cups, and 1 Copa del Rey are some of his triumphs.

The Croatian has established himself as one of the best players of his era and one of the brightest midfielders the game world has ever known over his stint in the Spanish capital.
