Real Madrid and France’s forward Karim Benzema tests positive for COVID-19

Real Madrid striker and France International Karim Benzema contacts COVID-19 virus and is prohibited from being in part with the Whites team.

Karim Benzema, the Los Blancos striker and France international who was on his action for the 2020 European Championship previously this summer has contacted the COVID-19 virus and is being prohibited from the Real Madrid squad training sessions as they are in the technique of improvement under Carlo Ancelotti’s second spell at the club following their unfortunate season previously.

The La Liga club handled 70+ injuries and coronavirus cases in the squad the prior season where they had to play their B team’s players in the crucial matches in the shortage of their key players due to damages still managed to end up 2nd on the Liga table above rivals Barcelona, where the Athletico Madrid won the title. Karim Benzema had netted for his side along with their midfielder Luka Modric against opponent Villareal.

Benzema had also contributed with a brace for France international where they were knocked out by Switzerland in the Euro 2020 round-of-16 phase by 4-5 in the penalties.

Not a good beginning for Madrid as they commenced their season with Dani Ceballos injury who was limped off in the Tokyo Olympics football fixture against Egypt yesterday and now Karim Benzema tested positive for the virus. The club is already struggling with Eden Hazard who has not played enough of the matches since he was signed for the 13 times Champions League winners in 2019 due to multiple damages.

“Real Madrid CF confirms that our player Karim Benzema has tested positive for COVID-19,” stated the Spanish club in an official announcement through their website.
