Rafael Nadal extends his support for Real Madrid striker Benzema for the Ballon d’Or

Karim Benzema is a part of the 30 men shortlist that was earlier released by FIFA. The striker scored 35 goals in his 2020/21 season along with 14 assists. He also helped his national side see through the UEFA Nations League final against Spain.

The debate for the winner of Ballon d’Or has heated up as we approach closer to the date of the announcement. The prestigious prize is considered to be one of the most important personal accolades present in the footballing world, and winning this prize is the dream for every player who has ever played the game. Such is the popularity of this award that people from the footballing world, as well as, those who belong to other fields or sports too can’t help but share their opinion on who should be winning the award.

Something similar happened on Tuesday, when Rafael Nadal, the famous Spanish tennis player shared a tweet in support of Striker Karim Benzema who represented Real Madrid and France in the year 2020/21. Nadal wrote in the tweet that he admires Benzema as a player for his commitment and professionalism at the age of 33. He further wished him good luck and extended his support for the Frenchmen to win the Golden Ball.

The Polish international has scored 54 goals and won 3 major titles for his club. While the Argentine won Copa Del Rey for his club, and his first international trophy with his nation in the form of Copa America.

After the 2020 edition of the award got canceled, It will be very interesting to see who wins it in 2021.
