Quarter-final fixtures, timings in IST & venues of Euro 2020

After witnessing a cracking round of 16 stages along with a few disappointments for few teams, Euro 2020 has entered into the quarterfinal stage. The first quarter-final will be played between Switzerland and Spain on July 2 at 9:30 pm (IST) in Kretovskey Stadium, St. Petersburg. Switzerland defeated the World Champions France in thrilling nail-biting penalties in the round of 16 by which they qualified for the quarterfinals.

Their opponent Spain thrashed Croatia by scoring two goals in the extra time (5-3) in the round of 16, though, Croatia had fought back by scoring two goals in the last five minutes to full time but failed to defeat Spain and qualify for the quarters. The first quarter-final will be followed by Belgium vs Italy which is the second quarter-final. This match will be played in Allianz Arena, Munich at 12:30 am (IST) on July 3. The current world number one Belgium defeated the defending champions Portugal in the round of 16 and booked a ticket for the quarters.

On the other side, Italy entered into the quarter-final by defeating Austria in the extra time (2-1). The third quarter-final will be between the Czech Republic and Denmark. The Danish team defeated Wales in the round of 16 to qualify for the quarterfinal. While the Czech Republic thrashed the Netherlands and made their spot in the quarterfinals. The Czech Republic vs Denmark will be played in Olympic Stadium, Baku on July 3 at 9:30 pm (IST). The last quarter-final will be played between Ukraine and England in Stadio Olimpico Stadium, Rome at 12:30 am (IST) on July 4. As the England team arrived in the quarter-final by thrashing Germany in the round of 16, Ukraine defeated Sweden in the round of 16 and reached the quarter-final.
