The Brazilian footballing star Neymar Junior is known for his long stint of injuries. Several football pundits believe that if it wasn’t for his frequent injuries, he would have been right up there in the footballing tally, matching shoulder to shoulder with Ronaldo and Messi. However, it does not seem to be possible as according to the sources of TOI a medical bulletin was released by PSG on Monday. In the bulletin, PSG said that Neymar “had some pain in his groin since returning from International duty and will undergo more treatment over the next few days before returning to full training.”
Neymar along with his fellow South American teammate Messi, missed the league 1 match on Friday, in which PSG defeated the Angers SCO by the margin of 2-1. While representing his country, the most expensive footballer scored in the 4-1 victory Brazil had over Uruguay. He played the full quota of 90 minutes in that match.
Messi however is believed to start in the lineup as PSG host Leipzig for the UCL group stage match. They will be looking to build on their 2-0 victory over Manchester City from the last UCL match. Although they will be hoping for Neymar to recover and return to the side, commenting about the same Pochettino told in the pre-match press conference streamed on PSG’s official website, “The priority is always the health of the players. ‘Ney’ has a small issue which we hope will only keep him out for a few days.”
With Mauro Icardi out due to personal issues, and both Di Maria and Paredes deem unfit, PSG’s management will be hoping for Neymar to return soon to the team.
