PSG forward Neymar stretchered off in stoppage time; possible ankle injury

Paris-Saint Germain’s Neymar was stretchered off in stoppage time due to a suspected ankle injury in a Ligue 1 game against Olympique Lyonnais. Neymar was on the end of an tackle from midfielder Thiago Mendes. The fellow Brazilian tried to win the ball from Neymar but the winger rolled his left ankle, leaving him in severe pain. The 28 year was in tears as he was stretchered off in the 97th minute.

The Brazilian also suffered from a Ruptured ankle ligament in 2019 although he only missed 1 game as he was injured after the season was over.

Lyon won the game 1-0 courtesy a first half goal from forward Timo Kadewere. A win meant Lyon now go 2nd in the league table, 1 point above 3rd placed PSG (28 points).
