PSG boss Thomas Tuchel heaps praise on Marcus Rashford

Ahead of the Manchester United vs Paris Saint-Germain tie at Old Trafford, Thomas Tuchel spoke about 23 year old Marcus Rashford and the qualities he has as a footballer.

PSG manager spoke highly of Manchester United winger Marcus Rashford ahead of their Champions League group stage match in Manchester. Tuchel said that PSG ‘value’ Rashford a lot but also mentioned that the habit of Rashford scoring against PSG is getting ‘annoying’.

“We value him very much when he plays in England and not Parc des Princes, honestly, because (him scoring against us) gets a little bit annoying,”

“The guy is a very young adult who takes his responsibility on and off the pitch very impressively. I have met him as an opponent three times and every time I’ve met a calm and humble guy and a nice person, which is amazing. I like this mixture a lot,” added Tuchel

Speaking of the qualities Rashford brings to the table as a footballer, Tuchel said, “For me personally, the sporting side is clear – he’s a big threat with his speed, with his ability to score, with his determination and his finishing.

“He’s very precise, taking shots inside and outside of the box. He is super rapid on counter-attacks and strong in the air with headers.

“He’s had a big impact and it’s nice to see guys like him from the academy having such a big impact in a big, big club like United.”

Rashford scored the winner against PSG in the 1st group stage match at Parc Des Princes. The Englishman also scored against the French Champions in March 2019 to complete a famous comeback from 2-0 down in the first leg to win 3-1.

If United beat PSG, then Tuchel’s side are in great danger of dropping down to the Europa League. The match is set to take place on December 3.
