Prince Ibara’s brace help Bengaluru FC thrash Mumbai City as the host miss the chance to go on top

Mumbai City had a chance to go on top of the Hero Indian Super League table again but a massive 3-0 defeat against Bengaluru FC didn’t let them do that. Kerala Blasters remains in the top with 17 points and a game in hand.

Mumbai City was defeated brutally by Pezzaiuoli’s Bengaluru FC in the Hero Indian Super League 2021/22 season on Monday. The 3-0 defeat at home was a huge shock for Mumbai City FC fans as the former table-toppers were in brilliant form this season. Now that Des Buckingham’s men are lost to Bengaluru FC, they have missed a great chance to go on top of the Hero Indian Super League points table again. It was an exciting game and a wonderful result for the visitors as they were desperately looking for a win. Before this, Bengaluru FC only won 1 game in the last 9 they played in the Indian Super League 2021/22 season. However, this win would have given a huge boost for the Pezzaiuoli’s men who are at 7th place in the league with 13 points.

All the goals which were scored in this match came only in the first half and all of them were scored by Bengaluru FC’s players. The scoring started at just 8 minutes into the game when Bengaluru’s midfielder Farooq Bhat scored a great goal to give the lead to the visitors. A few minutes later, Bengaluru FC extended their lead to 2-0 as Prince Ibara strikes his first of the game. After both teams received 2-2 yellow cards in the first half, It was Prince Ibara again who scored his second and completed his brace in the 45+5th minute. It was the last goal of the game which pretty decided the end result.

The score remained 3-0 to Bengaluru at the end of the first half as well as the second half. The second half sees no goal but some amazing chances from both teams. It was Bengaluru’s FC since the start as the visitors totally dominated this game in terms of chances creation or shots on the opposition’s goal.
