Following a disappointing run, Tottenham decided to part ways with Conte on Sunday night. In an interview with Tottenham club channels, the managing director of spurs – Fabio Paratici, explained why Conte’s reign ended in such disgrace.
“About Antonio, we know how difficult this season was for him. The death of Gian Piero, Vialli and Mihajlovic, the surgery, the club’s support, everyone was close to him. But we agreed, and I think our decision was right for everyone,” Paratici said.
The former assistant of Conte, Cristian Stellini, who has taken over Tottenham in Conte’s absence this year, and speculation about a permanent successor to him were discussed by Paratici during a recent interview.
He said, “So Cristian managed the team even when Antonio was sick this season and was doing well. He has experience as a second and even first coach. We have Ryan Mason, who can help him greatly because he’s been part of this club for a long time. He knows everything about this kind of group of players. So we are confident these two candidates can do an excellent job.”
Paratici continued that the team would try to achieve all its targets by the end of this season. He said, “We will fight to achieve our targets. We are prepared to fight until the end of the season. Everyone has to focus on the last part of the season.”
