Premier League: COVID-19 outbreak in the squad causes Aston Villa vs Everton to be postponed

Aston Villa’s game against Everton at Villa Park on Sunday has been postponed after a string of coronavirus cases were found in the Aston Villa camp. The whole Villa squad remains in isolation.

Premier League released a statement regarding issue saying, “A significant number of Villa players and staff remained in isolation. As a result, the Premier League board has agreed to Aston Villa’s request to postpone their match on Sunday.”

Villa’s game against Tottenham Hotspur in midweek was also postponed for the same reason. Instead Spurs hosted Fulham in a game that was supposed to be played in December as it was also postponed because a number of COVID-19 cases were found in Fulham’s squad.
