
AS Roma were against Fiorentina FC in the Serie A on Sunday night, 15th January. The game was played at AS Roma’s home stadium named Stadio Olimpico. Fiorentina conceded two goals and both the goals were scored by a single person.
AS Roma played against 10-men Fiorentina for nearly 70 minutes after the visitors recieved a red card in the 24th minute. Dodo’s bad challenges on Roma’s player twice was enough for the referee to show him the red card. Dodo had to leave the ground for his misconduct. Former Juventus’ forward Paulo Dybala scored his first goal in the 40th minute.
This was the only goal scored in the first half. Fiorentina were trying hard to equalise but they were finding it difficult to do it with one man down. Later in the second half, Dybala completed his brace and the goal was the match-winner. AS Roma is now on 34 points and is at 7th position in the Serie A table. Jose Mourinho’s side is 13 points behind the table-toppers Napoli FC. In the coming matches, AS Roma will try to close this gap to finish as higher as they can.
