Official: World Cup winner Raphael Varane announces retirement from International football

Raphael Varane won’t be seen in France national football team’s jersey anymore as he has announced his retirement.

The Manchester United’s defender Raphael Varane has announced his retirement from International football on Thursday, 2nd February. On Wednesday night, Manchester United won the Semifinals of the Carabao Cup (2022/23) and went into the finals.

The defender played this game for Manchester United and no one would have predicted that one of the best defenders of the team is set to leave the International football. Raphael Varane won’t be seen in the France national football team’s jersey anymore.

Varane was one of the crucial defenders of France team not only in the FIFA World Cup 2022 but in the Euros and FIFA World Cup 2018 as well. Raphael Varane guided French national football team to their second World Cup title in the year 2018.

Manchester United’s defender also helped the team to go to the finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022 and they nearly won it for the third time. Raphael Varane will now only be focusing on club football after his retirement announcement.
