Official: Romelu Lukaku joins Inter Milan on loan

The Belgian striker has returned to Inter on a season-long move from Chelsea.

Romelu Lukaku is back to Inter officially on a loan deal from Chelsea. The deal was made and decided a while ago but now the club has officially confirmed the deal. Lukaku had joined Stamford Bridge only last year from Inter for a club-record deal worth 97.5m pounds. But he had managed to score only eight goals last season for Chelsea.

Lukaku in his previous spell at Inter had an outstanding record. He had played a total of 95 games for them. Out of that he had scored 64 times and assisted 16 times. He also made Inter win the 2020-21 Serie A after ending Juventus’ nine-year reign. He had played a key role in Inter’s success.

The 29-year-old had high hopes of joining Chelsea last season. But he did not perform like the way he did in Italy as Chelsea did not win any single title last season and he could not contribute much to the team in any manner as well. It was just a mediocre season for him. A player like Lukaku can bring lots of things to the table but last year was something for him to forget about.

With Lukaku back to Inter, they certainly would be looking forward to recreating the amazing campaign they had for the 2020-21 season. By missing out on 2 points to their fierce rival AC Milan, Inter will be surely hoping to win the Serie A next season with the attacking help coming from the big man Lukaku.
