The former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager was in talks with the US national team since long and now the contract has been finally announced with the tactician to be there in the biggest competition ahead i.e. FIFA World Cup 2026.
Mauricio Pochettino appointed as the new head coach of the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team (USMNT) comes as a very good news for their fans. After months of speculation and negotiations, the U.S. Soccer Federation has confirmed that the Argentine tactician will take the helm ahead of a pivotal period for American soccer, with the FIFA World Cup 2026 on the horizon.
Pochettino, renowned for his high-pressing style and player development, brings a wealth of experience to the USMNT. His managerial career includes successful stints in the Premier League and Ligue 1, most notably guiding Tottenham to a Champions League final in 2019. His experience in molding young talent and competing at the highest levels of international and club football makes him a natural fit for a USMNT squad brimming with potential.
The appointment comes at a critical time, as the U.S. prepares to co-host the 2026 World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico.
