Liverpool FC will play in the UEFA Europa League next season as the team is going to finish the season on the 5th position in the English Premier League’s points table. Jurgen Klopp will be disappointed to see this as he wanted to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
However due to their performance in the early part of the season, it was already looking difficult for them to get the qualification to the toughest and most decorated league of football in Europe. This place of Liverpool was confirmed by Manchester United who won their second last game against Chelsea in the league on Thursday night.
A win for Manchester United means they are above 70 points and Liverpool could only reach 69 if they win their last game of the league. So, it has been decided that Liverpool FC will have to play in the Europa League whereas teams that qualify for the next year’s Champions league are Manchester City (champions), Arsenal (2nd), Manchester United (3rd), Newcastle United (4th).
