Martin Odegaard has played for the Gunners in the second half of the last season. He arrived in London on loan from Real Madrid this year in January. Odegaard showed some great performances for the club that’s why Mikel Arteta, Arsenal manager wanted to sign him permanently this summer. Odegaard is Mikel’s fourth signing of this summer while the other three were Ben White from Brighton on a £50 million deal, Portuguese left-back, Nuno Tavares from Benfica, and Albert Sambi Lokonga from Anderlecht.

Mikel Arteta is delighted to have Odegaard on his team and happy that Arsenal managed to sign him permanently. He is impressed with the 22-year old Norwegian midfielder as he sees him as an alternative for creativity.

“A lot of things that he brought last season, he made us better, we needed more options and alternatives for creativity. He is still a young man but he has huge experiences in clubs already and has unique talents for the way we want to play so I am pleased the club have made the effort.” Mikel Arteta said to Arsenal media on their official website.

The Arsenal official website has also stated that the Norweigan is going to wear the 8 number shirt for them. However, the 22-year old new Arsenal midfielder is going to miss their next game in the Premier League which is a North-West London derby against Chelsea FC on Sunday.
