Not just Karim Benzema, here’s other big names who will miss 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar for France

The French National Team has been injury ridden with a lot of their talented players missing a place in the squad due to their injuries.

The France National Team announced Benzema’s departure from the squad due to a thigh injury wishing him speedy recovery through an instagram post. Karim shared a post as well expressing his regret and sadness of not being able to play in the first world cup after his comeback in the team.

While the ballon d’or holder is not the only talent to be out, players like N’Golo Kante, Paul Pogba, Nkunku, Mike Maignan and Kimpembe are missing their flight to Qatar as well. Pogba had soon been ruled out after re-joining Juventus during his US pre-season tour due to a tear in the meniscus, Kante was ruled out last month due to a harmstring problem until February and Nkunku suffered a blow during the pre-season world cup training less than week ago. Kimpembe was left due to a harmstring injury which had happened in October during a league game and Maignan got his calf injured during the same period.

France have an immense squad depth but these injuries are a huge drawback for Deschamps’ men as they look forward to retain their title. It will be upto the French boss on how he would fair in the man management area of his job as this is going to be a huge test of his career as a manager.
